The Kalymnos International Climbing Festival 2025 proudly presents “Stronger Than Ever”, the latest feature documentary by Polish filmmaker and writer Marcin Jamkowski — a powerful story about resilience, fear, and second chances.
The film follows Maciej “Pastor” Kubera, a 52-year-old rock climber who, after a tragic accident, sets himself a life-changing goal: to return stronger than ever and climb “Andromeda,” one of the most demanding limestone routes on the Greek island of Kalymnos.
Through stunning imagery from Greece, Spain, the UK, and Poland, Jamkowski crafts an emotional portrait of passion, perseverance, and the universal struggle to overcome fear. “Stronger Than Ever” is not just about recovery — it’s about rediscovering connection, courage, and the collective power of healing.
Marcin Jamkowski is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and former editor-in-chief of National Geographic Poland. A Harvard and MIT graduate, Jamkowski has led or participated in over a dozen scientific and exploratory expeditions across five continents. His work blends adventure, discovery, and the human spirit. “Stronger Than Ever” marks his second feature-length documentary.
The film will be screened during the Kalymnos International Climbing Festival 2025 (October 16–19), offering climbers and film enthusiasts an inspiring journey into the limits of body, mind, and soul.
